Voice/Choirs

Private Voice Lessons

If your child loves to sing, our lessons can help bring out his or her best voice. With lessons for children and adults age 3 ½ and up, the program builds focus, self-confidence and a sense of accomplishment.

Our voice program emphasizes proper technique, including posture and breathing. Students learn to sing freely and without tension, in a way that is healthy and safe. Depending on the student's age, he or she may also be introduced to music fundamentals, including basic note reading.

Lessons are geared to each student's interests, and our teachers have professional backgrounds in a variety of styles, ranging from rock and blues, to classical, pop, musical theatre, and opera.

The Strings Program also offers unique Voice/Piano combo lessons.  This approach works especially well with the youngest children.

All voice students are encouraged to participate in the Strings Program's many performances, including  recitals, concerts, musical festivals, and community events. (See  our Calendar).

Choirs/Vocal Ensembles

Our community-centered vocal performance programs are open to youngsters from preschool through high school. The ensembles nurture children's love of music, while striving for excellence at all skill levels. The study of a quality repertoire hones vocal skills; participation in rehearsals builds self-discipline and provides a direct experience of the power of teamwork; and in performance, our members have the opportunity to represent themselves and their community with poise, confidence, and musical artistry.
Our ensembles are:

Training Choir. For pre-K through first graders. Children find their voices in this innovative musical adventure, which includes singing, movement, and more.

Elementary Vocal Workshop. Elementary-age students learn to sing correctly in various styles, incorporating movement and music fundamentals. A great way to prepare for school musicals.

Teen Musical Theatre Workshop. This ensemble is designed to teach middle and high school students to sing correctly, increase vocal range, and build confidence. It’s an ideal way to prepare for a school musical.
