Orchestra Programs
The South Pasadena Strings Program offers two levels of orchestra classes. Graduates of our beginning classes are eligible to play in the Training Orchestra. More advanced students (through sixth grade) can audition for the Los Angeles Children's Orchestra (formerly known as the South Pasadena Children's Orchestra). Both ensembles perform numerous concerts throughout the year.
In April of 2009 the Children's Orchestra performed at the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York City where they won the highest rating, the gold medal. In December 2009 the Children's Orchestra performed on the PBS Holiday celebrations show which will air nationally in 2010. See our orchestras in action on the Watch & Listen page.
